Police arrested three people in in Nilphamari district on Tuesday in connection with a Facebook post allegedly hurting the sentiment of Muslims.
The arrestees are Jagadish Chandra Roy and Robi Chandra Roy of North Baravita village in the upazila, and Nayan Chandra Roy of Harirampur union in Sadar upazila of Rangpur.
Police said an offensive status was posted on Facebook against Muslims from the Facebook ID of Jagadish Chandra.
According to UNB, legal actions will be taken after investigation, said officer-in-charge of district's Kishoreganj Police Station Bazlur Rashid.
