Police recovered the bodies of a woman and her 7-year-old daughter from a home in Bogura’s Borgola Tinpatti area.

The victims have been identified as 28-year-old Rubaiya and her daughter Sumaiya. Rubaiya’s husband Yusuf Ali is an expatriate living in Saudi Arabia.

Police believe the two were hacked to death with sharp weapons, as per a bdnews24.com report.

Neighbours reported police of the lying bodies on Tuesday morning, said Bogura Sadar Police OC Badiuzzaman.

Police recovered the bodies and have sent them for autopsy to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

“An initial investigation suggests the two were hacked to death with a sharp weapon at some point last night,” said OC Badiuzzaman.

Neither police nor the relatives of the victims have any leads as to who committed the murders.

Rubaiya’s father Abdul Hamid said that his daughter and granddaughter lived alone at the home.

We do not know who could have done this, he said.
