Political violence killed 28 in Jan-Apr: ASK

Some 28 people were killed and 1,204 injured in 110 incidents of political violence in first four months of the current calendar year, according to a local independent rights body.

Out of the incidents, infighting in the ruling party killed five and injured 275 people, according to the data of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK).

Apart from this, clashes among the activists of Jubo League killed one and injured 27. Violence in Upzilla Parishad Election kills 17 people and injured 813, it added.

 Violence after national parliamentary election injured 47 while four people were killed during national parliamentary election violence, the ASK report showed.

Some 67 people were killed and 7,287 injured in 701 incidents in 2018, the ASK data added.
