President reaches Uzbekistan

A red carpet was rolled out to welcome President Md Abdul Hamid as he reached Bukhara International Airport, Bukhara city, in Uzbekistan from Tajik capital Dushanbe on Sunday afternoon.

A VVIP special flight of Uzbekistan air force’s aircraft carrying the President and his entourage members, landed at Bukhara International Airport at about 1:25 pm (local time), reports BSS.

The Bangladesh head of the state, who is on seven-day official visit to two central Asian states – Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, reached in Bukhara city after attending the fifth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

The President will also attend some official programme here, a foreign ministry spokesman told BSS On his arrival at Bukhara airport, the President was received by concerned high officials.

Earlier, the President left Dushanbe International Airport for Uzbekistan by at 12:45 pm (local time) President’s wife Rashida Khanam and Foreign Minister Dr AK Momen, among others, are accompanying Abdul Hamid.

President Md Abdul Hamid will return home on June 19.
