A private car was gutted as a fire broke out in it on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Masterbari area in Gazipur city on Saturday morning.
Zakir Hossain, station officer of Gazipur Fire Service, said a businessman, Mehedi Hasan, found technical problems with his car while he was driving towards Joydebpur.
At one stage, Hossain said, the car caught fire on the highway around 7:30am.
On information, a firefighting team rushed in and doused the fire around 8:00am.
However, there was no report of any casualty in the incident, reports UNB.
The fire triggered huge traffic jam on the busy highway.
