Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered 1,440 bottles of Phensidyl from a truck and arrested its driver and helper in the district town early Thursday.
The arrestees were identified as Md Yusuf Gazi, 28, truck driver and son of Shahin Gazi, and helper Swapan Kumar Das, 25, both residents of Chandapara village in Chougachha upazila.
Tipped off, a team of RAB-6 raided the truck on Jashore-Magura road around 4am and recovered the Phensidyl syrup from it, reports UNB.
Later, they arrested the driver and helper in this connection, said acting Commander of Rab-6 Jashore camp ASP Khodad Hossain at a press briefing.
