Rajshahi entrepreneurs demand hassle-free banking facilities

RAJSHAHI, Feb 04: Entrepreneurs in Rajshahi have demanded hassle-free banking facilities for smooth operation of their business.

While expressing their opinions at a workshop organised on National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award-2019 and Institutional Appreciation Awards-2019 at Rajshahi Circuit House on Tuesday, the speakers said though the government has introduced various facilities for entrepreneurs to flourish industries, the entrepreneurs enjoy only a few of those facilities. Under such a situation, entrepreneurs of the Rajshahi division have demanded to ensure banking facilities for them under proper supervision.

National Productivity Organisation and Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Office jointly organised the workshop.

Business leaders at the workshop mentioned the industries in the northern region of the country could not be flourished due to various reasons. Even, the entrepreneurs of small industries of the region are encountering multifarious problems.

They are harassed in various ways while they go the banks for collecting capital of investment in their business but the government has directed the banks to ensure various business facilities. Many banks do not care for those directions. That is why they demanded, there should be strict supervision by the authorities concerned in this connection. At the same time, they demanded introduction of the SME activities in all divisional cities.

Presided over by Hamidul Haque, deputy commissioner of Rajshahi, the workshop was attended, among others, by Humayun kabir Khandker, Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi as the chief guest, Nischinto Kumar Poddar, Director of NPO and Mirja Nurul Gani Shovon, President of National Small and Cottage Industries Corporation as the special guests.

President of Bangladesh Reshom Shilpo Malik Samity Liakat Ali, former RCCI directors Hasen Ali and Tanjimul Islam and entrepreneurs and government officials from eight districts of the division were also present on the occasion.

Additional Divisional Commissioner ANM Mainul Islam delivered the welcome speech at the function.

Merina Sultana, senior assistant commissioner of Rajshahi divisional commissioner office conducted the workshop.
