A man was killed in an attack by his rivals over a land dispute at Hasapotal village in Dhunat upazila of Bogra district on Wednesday.
The deceased, Sharafat Mondol, 55, son of Mokbar Ali Mondol of the village, and his neighbour Rafiqul Islam had long been at loggerheads over the position of a boundary wall, police said.
As a sequel to the enmity, there was an altercation between them around 7:30 am on Wednesday, said Farukul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Dhanut Police Station, reports UNB.
At one stage, Rafiqul along with his siblings beat up Sharafat mercilessly and hit him with a sharp weapon, leaving Sharafat injured.
Later, he was taken to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 10:30 pm.
