Seat crisis in the JU library

Published :

Updated :

JAHANGIRNAGAR University is one of the leading universities in the country. The university is known as a fully residential university. More than 12 thousand students study in this university. But the seating capacity of the university library is too inadequate compared to the number of students visiting the library every day. The library has only 300 seats for the students which are far too short of demand. Students are to literally win a battle to get a place in the library to sit and study. They have to stand in a queue. Although there are designated reading rooms in all residential halls, they are being used to provide residential accommodation for the first year students. Thus the students of JU have very little scope for library work.
I would like to draw the attention of the university authorities to look into the matter and take appropriate steps to increase the seating capacity of university library and allow the students to have adequate library work.
