LAS VEGAS massacre took a toll of 60 lives and left around 500 people injured. It was one of the deadliest shootouts in the US history that left people around the world shell-shocked.  The mass shooting occurred at a music festival in the Las Vegas. During the closing stages of the concert performance by singer Jason Aldean, a gunman on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino across Las Vegas Boulevard opened fire on  the festival crowd. The killer was later found dead in his hotel room with a self-inflicted gunshot.

The gunman was identified as Stephen Craig Paddock. He was living in a retirement community. The Police found 16 rifles and one handgun inside the hotel room that Paddock had rented.  According to the police, Paddock acted alone and his motive was unknown.  The madness and cruelty involved are shocking. Every other day we read about killing of innocent people taking place in some country or the other. As human beings we must rise together against all sorts of terrorism, whether it is state-sponsored like Myanmar or by the religious fanatics like the Islamic State.
