Sri Lankan cricket team is taking full preparations for their upcoming Test series against India. They look to register their first ever Test match victory in India, having failed to do so in all their previous 17 attempts.

India, having won against New Zealand in the recently concluded ODI and T20 series, sets eyes on being in sublime form under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.

Thilan Samaraweera, the batting coach of Sri Lanka, has warned his batsmen to be extra cautious when facing Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja when they face them in the upcoming test series.

He also briefed them on the strength of the seam bowlers as India’s seam bowling is believed to have dramatically improved in the last 6-8 months.

Sri Lanka's opening batsman Dimuth Karunaratne also holds opinions similar to those of the batting coach.

He told Cricbuzz that both Ashwin and Jadeja would play pivotal roles in the upcoming Test series and it is difficult to play against them because they are highly experienced and smart.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka's former captain Angelo Mathews has asked if they are to beat India and that too, in their home ground, they have to be at their very best.

He firmly believes that his team has all the necessary talent and expects them to show positive character in the field, leaving behind the past poor performances.

In the turning pitches of India, Rangana Herath, the veteran spinner, will have to play an important role. Sri Lanka will be looking at him to bring breakthroughs and not to let the India get away with runs.

Sri Lanka will play a two-day warm-up match against Indian Board President’s XI before the Test series kicked off at Eden Gardens on November 16. They will be facing India in 3 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 3 T20s.
