The guardian of a boy student has been tortured by teachers of a school after asking to know about results of his son and alleged irregularities.

The barbaric incident was reported in Cox's Bazar on Sunday at the Kharulia High School ground in the district.

The tortured guardian was identified as Ayat Ullah. His son Shahriar Nafis is a second-grade student of Kharulia Pre-Cadet and KG School.

Father Ayat Ullah went to the school in the morning to know why his son failed to get GPA five in the last final examination.

He also asked headmaster Borhan Uddin about the increasing admission and monthly fees without issuance of prior notice.

At one stage, an altercation ensued between the two.

Later, the pre-cadet school headmaster called in Jahirul Haque, the headmaster of nearby high school, for joining him in the melee.

Jahirul soon after coming to the spot started assaulting Ayat Ullah physically.

Their followers also joined the two headmasters and swooped on the guardian tying his legs and hands.

Later, local people rescued the hapless guardian upon listening to his screaming.

A relative of Ayat Ullah later in the day filed a case with Cox's Bazar police station against 12 persons in this connection.

The plaintiff's name was not confirmed till filing the report at 11.00pm.

Local media sources say Cox's Bazar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Noman Hossain later visited the school and residence of the victim guardian.

He said show-cause notices were served in this regard against pre-cadet school headmaster Borhan Uddin, high school headmaster Jahirul Haque and another teacher.
