Ten companies snare 18.79pc of total turnover

Top 10 turnover leaders grabbed 18.79 per cent of total turnover featured by Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week.

During the week, the premier bourse DSE conducted transactions for three sessions and posted a total turnover of above Tk 42.75 billion.

Of total turnover, Tk 13.17 billion came from the transactions of the shares of top 10 companies. The share prices of those companies advanced ranging between 3.43 per cent and 18.82 per cent.

Beximco posted the highest turnover value while the Orion Pharma witnessed the highest price appreciation on the DSE in last week.

Beximco posted a turnover of Tk 2.97 billion and the company grabbed 4.25 per cent of total turnover value posted by the DSE.

At the end of the week, the company's share price closed at Tk 96.90 each with a rise of 6.13 per cent on the DSE.

Orion Pharma grabbed 2.41 per cent of the weekly market turnover after posting a value of Tk 1.69 billion. During the week, the company's share price rose 18.82 per cent to close at Tk 68.20 each.

Saif Powertec posted a turnover of Tk 1.53 billion and grabbed 2.19 per cent of weekly turnover value. The company's share price closed at Tk 29.10 each with a rise 2.83 per cent.

GPH Ispat grabbed 2.06 per cent of the market turnover after featuring a turnover of Tk 1.44 billion. At the end of the week, the company's share price closed at Tk 53.60 each with a rise of 8.28 per cent.

In last week, the share price of IFIC Bank advanced 7.41 per cent and closed at Tk 14.50 each. During the week, the company posted a turnover of Tk 1.29 billion and grabbed 1.84 per cent of the weekly turnover.

Fu-Wang Ceramic Industries posted a turnover of Tk 1.08 billion and captured 1.55 per cent of the weekly turnover. In last week, the company's share price advanced 4.10 per cent to close at Tk 27.90 each.

The share price of S. S. Steel advanced 8.33 per cent to close at Tk 23.40 each on Thursday. During the week, the company posted a turnover of Tk 846.36 million and grabbed 1.21 per cent of the weekly market turnover.

Of other turnover leaders, Malek Spinning posted a turnover of Tk 784.65 million, Maksons Spinning Mills Tk 775.38 million and Beximco Pharmaceuticals Tk 743.12 million.
