Six prominent domestic and global women leaders, who have set an example in their respective fields, joined the globinar as panelists-- Barrister Tania Amir, senior advocate of the Supreme Court, Bangladesh and a senior partner at Amir & Amir Law Associates, Zara Mahbub, country director and CEO of Kazi IT Center Limited, La Juana (LJ) Chambers Lawson, owner, CIO and principal consultant at Tacit Growth Strategies and a best-selling author, Katie Keith, executive director of Global Chamber London, Rudmeela Nawsheen, founder and CEO of ConfigVR and ConfigRbot, and Nawmi Naz Chowdhury, programme manager at Asian-Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW).
In addition to the panel of local and international speakers, founder and CEO of Global Chamber ® (GC), Doug Bruhnke co-moderated the event that was held recently with Maimun Ur Rashid Mustafa,executive director of GC Dhaka and Barisal, and Susan Assadi, executive director of GC New York.
Discussion began with Tania Amir exchanging her views on human dignity and mentioned that thereis not enough discourses about it. "If you have passion for what you aredoing, you will succeed," she conveyed her message for the women, "Stay focused and do the best you can.It is important to keep inner strengths."
Zara Mahbub, on the other hand, had something inspirational to share. "Get out there, grab the bull by the horns. Work thosehours and get your family on board because when you earn more, they get a better life," she remarked.
LJ Lawson spoke about the importance of diversity and providing opportunities to women, especially people of colour. "You need to open doors for other people who look like you," commented Ms Lawson. She believes, "We have to leave the door open to let other people in, who will do ten times more."
Katie Keith responded to questions regarding progressing in one's career. She suggested, "Trust your gut and go with what you have got." Regarding women's right, Keith noted, "It takes time to reflect on thoughts."
Rudmeela Nawsheen focused on the necessity of more women in the STEM field (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). "We need more women in tech. Women need to gear up and compete with men, they need to be more tech savvy. If you really want there is nothing that you cannot do," said the inspiring tech entrepreneur.
Barrister Nawmi Naz Chowdhury then shared her experience of working as a human rights activist and helping those in need. In her words, "Knowledge is power and when you have knowledge, you are more likely to act and bring the positive change in policy."
After the initial presentations and the interviews of the respected speakers by the moderators, a discussion session was held where panelists answering questions from the moderators and the audience from Bangladesh and all over the world.
"We believe that the emancipation and success of our female leaders is integral for economies to grow and thrive, and that is why events such as this are vital," said Maimun Mustafa, executive director of the Dhaka chapter of GC.

The 'Women in Global Leadership' is their signature event which began five years ago. The objective of the programme was to hear from leaders who have been fostering diverse working environments in order to achieve success in their respective professional fields.
