Reminiscing about DU days in Australia

An air of festivity flooded a Perth auditorium in Australia recently when a number of Dhaka University’s former students met there for the first time to share their joy with old friends, seniors, and juniors.

They took part in joyful interactions, recalled their university days, and took group photographs and selfies at a reunion on Saturday.

The programme was coordinated by Dr Md Moazzem Hossain, associate professor of Sustainability Accounting and Governance of Murdoch University and his team.

Amid laughter and hugs, they took a stroll down memory lane, reminiscing about the old days in the reunion which many called a piece of Dhaka University in Australia.

Around two hundred DU alumni with their families attended the function at Woodlupine Family Centre in Perth city of Western Australia.

Dr Md Moazzem Hossain, who coordinated the programme, said, “It was difficult for us to gather all the alumni of DU for the first time in Western Australia.”

“We have plans to organise such a programme every year,” he added.
