Vacancy Type: Health Officer (Medical Doctor)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Applies medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevent illness. Carry out outpatient consultations as requested, prescribing the necessary treatment respecting the national and WHO protocols.
  • Prescribes the necessary medication following guidelines and protocols.
  • Keeps the patient and/or his/her family informed about his/her illness and provides them with appropriate explanations about the treatment and the expected progression of the disease to follow.
  • Decides whether the patient should be transferred to other health facilities and informs their family about the patient's evolution.

Role-specific knowledge and experience: 

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) with a 1-year internship having valid registration from Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
  • Clinical knowledge in Medicine, Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Pediatrics at the Primary Health Care curative and preventive level as well as Emergency Preparedness and Response will get preference.
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience (including at least 2 years of clinical experience) in the humanitarian sector.
