Bangladesh has registered another 20 deaths from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours till 8:00am on Tuesday, taking the death toll to 5,838 in the country.
Besides, some 1,335 fresh infections were recorded during the period, pushing the total case count to 401,586 according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
As many as 1,523 patients recovered from the Covid-19 during the 24 hours, the release added, saying that the recovery rate rose to 79.22 per cent while the death rate declined to 1.45 per cent.
Among the deceased, 14 were men and 6 women.
The country tested a total of 12,617 samples in its 111 authorised labs, bringing the total number of samples tested to over 2.2 million, according to the DGHS release.
