Eight Regent group employees remanded in fraud case

A Dhaka court today (Sunday) placed eight employees of Regent Group and Regent Hospital on two-day remand each in a case lodged over issuing fake coronavirus test reports and other forgeries.

The accused are Regent Hospital Admin Ahsan Habib, 45, X-ray Technician Hasan, 49, Medical Technologist Hakim Ali, 25, Regent Group Project Admin Rakibul Islam, 39, Regent Group HR Admin Amit Banik, 33, Driver Abdus Salam, 25, Abdur Rashid Khan Jewel, 28, and Mizanur Rahman.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan passed the order as police produced the accused before the court and investigation agency Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) pleaded to place them on five-day remand.

RAB on July 7 filed the case against 17 including Regent Group Chairman Md Shahed alias Shahed Karim, reports BSS.
