The education ministry has extended the closure of all the educational institutions of the country till October 31 citing lack of significant development to reopen schools amid the pandemic, according to a ministry official.
“The government has extended the closure of all educational institutions across the country till October 31,” public relations officer of the education ministry Mohammad Abul Khair confirmed it to the FE on Thursday.
On March 16, the government closed all educational institutions to prevent the spread of coronavirus. No classes have been held since that day.
Bangladesh posted 1,436 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection in a daily count on Wednesday, taking the tally so far to 363,479.
Besides, the death count jumped to 5,251 after 32 fatalities were registered on the same day, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
