The 'Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project' of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division on Saturday inaugurated a training programme on Blockchain Technology.

Aiming to improve the overall management of the country as well as ensure transparency, the training started through video conferencing.

The Senior Secretary of ICT Division Mr. N M Zeaul Alam PAA attended the inaugural function as the chief guest.

The basics and evolution of Blockchain Technology, Blockchain for Supply Chain Management, and Understanding Blockchain Technology were the topics of the training.

More than 60 trainees from the Barisal region joined the training through the online platform Zoom.

A member of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) professor Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain and the executive director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Mr. Parthapratim Deb were the special guests at the programme.

Mr Mr. N M Zeaul Alam exchanged experiences on different achievements of ICT division and blockchain technology.

Blockchain is an important technology that needs to be used properly. There is considerable interest among our youth on Frontier technology, the senior secretary stated.

The ICT division is working as a 'front line soldier' using Frontier technology. But, in this case, we need trained manpower the most, Mr Alam pointed out.

The online programme was presided over by the project director (Additional Secretary) of the iDEA Project Syed Mojibul Huq.

He said that without Frontier technology, it will be challenging to make decisions for different activities in the future.

“If we want to take up digital marketing or any other activity, we must take the help of Frontier Technology”, Mr Huq said.

That means blockchain technology is a very important necessary medium. He thinks that if we cannot teach Frontier Technology to our present generation, we will have to fall behind during the 4th Industrial Revolution.

The executive director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Mr. Parthapratim Deb thanked all those who helped make the event a success.

Regional Director of Barisal Division of the BCC Md. Monirul Islam, the Deputy Project Director (Deputy Secretary) of iDEA Project Kazi Hosna Ara, the project's senior consultant R. H. M. Alaol Kabir , the technology Management Specialist of the project Mehedi Hasan Bhuiyan, Consultant of iDEA Project Monirul Islam, Shohag Chandra Das, teachers from Barisal University of Science and Technology and Patuakhali Science and Technology University, BCC and other officials of ICT division were present online at the time.
