China's industrial profits up 16.5pc in January-May

The industrial profits of China grew 16.5 per cent in the first five months of 2018, quickening from the 15-per cent expansion for the January-April period, official data showed Wednesday.

In May alone, combined profits at industrial companies each with annual revenue of more than $3.0 million US dollars, went up 21.1 per cent year on year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics, reports Xinhua.
