Vacancy Type: Programme Policy Officer (DRR)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement the Youth Environmental Brigades component of the World Bank (SNSP) project in close coordination with the GoB, the World Bank team and relevant partners, with a focus on establishing a robust governance structure and timely project implementation. 

  • Undertake frequent spot check visits for all FFA/ DRR programme field staff to quality implementation and on-job training given as and where required. 

  • Follow up the procedure of collecting, processing and compilation of monitoring information (e.g., no. of CFW participants engaged, resources utilization, assets created, cash distributed, gender segregation, programme status), etc. 

  • Managing WFP’s engagement with key NGOs and partners; review proposals and providing technical feedback to improve the deliverables under different DRR thematic areas. Build capacities of local NGO partners.

Role-specific knowledge and experience: 

  • Master’s degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or another field relevant to international development assistance, or bachelor’s degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses. 

  • At least 5 years of experience in humanitarian, development, and other relevant operations/programmes with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar field.

  • Experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of DRR/FFA activities.
