Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina underwent a successful gallbladder surgery in the US and was resting on her doctors’ advice, her office has said.
A statement by Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said that the surgery was performed around 8:00pm local time on Sep 25 and it was successful, bdnews24.
It said the prime minister was taken to hospital after she complained of stomach pain. After a diagnosis, the doctors decided to perform the surgery. The prime minister is in good health, according to the statement.
Hasina will return to Bangladesh on Oct 5.
