More players to join individual training programme

The second phase of the individual training programme of the cricketers is all set to kick off Saturday. In this phase, more cricketers are joining as the new schedule of the programme has suggested.

The first phase of the programme was held before the Eid which lasted for eight days, and a total of 14 players had joined the programme across the country.

Cricketers like Mushfiqur Rahim, Imrul Kayes, Taskin Ahmed trained in Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium while Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mahadi Hasan trained in Khulna. Syed Khaled, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Nayeem Hasan practised in Sylhet, Khulna and Chattogram respectively.

In the new phase of this programme, almost all the players of the national pool will join. This is the first time so many cricketers are joining outdoor training programmes after the deadly coronavirus hit the country.

Earlier, the cricketers who had joined the first phase, said that it was tough for them to get back to action after a long gap of four months. But all of them agreed that it was required for them to take the field to get the fitness back.

Cricketers who are joining the programme in the other parts of the country: Mehidy Hasan, Nurul Hasan Shohan, Mahedi Hasan (Khulna), Abu Jayed Rahi, Ebadot Hossain, Sayed Khaled Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed (Sylhet), Nayeem Hasan, Yasir Ali Rabbi, Irfan Shukkur (Chattogram), Najmul Hossain Shanto, Sunzamul Islam (Rajshahi)
