The government has decided to waive 5.0 per cent import duty on onion until March 31, 2021 to rein in its price in the local market.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) sources made the confirmation to the Financial Express (FE) on Sunday.
The board will issue Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) enforcing the decision soon.
