ACM-ICPC programming contest begins at DIU

A daylong programming contest began at the Shawadhinata Milonayoton of Daffodil International University campus at Ashulia on Saturday.

As part of the selection of two teams for the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC) for the world finals 2019 contest, DIU and ICT Division of Ministry of Post and Telecommunication and IT organised the contest.

ACM ICP, is an annual multi-tiered competitive programming competition among the universities of the world, according to UNB.

A total of 297 teams from more than 100 public and private universities took part in the contest.

Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman of University Grants Commission Bangladesh (UGC) inaugurated the programme at around 9:00am at the campus while national Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury addressed the opening session as guest of honour.

Among the contestants, best two regional contest winners will participate in world finals 2019 which will be hosted by University of Porto in Portugal on March 31.
