Training on ‘Robotics Technology’ held

The “Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project” on Monday organised a daylong online training on "Robotics Technology".

The training began after the inaugural programme through a video conferencing under the “Education for Nation” platform of iDEA of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division.

The whole event was broadcast live on the official Facebook page of "Startup Bangladesh". More than 50 trainees from Khulna division took part in the daylong training through the online platform Zoom.

Senior Secretary of ICT Division N M Zeaul Alam was the chief guest at the inaugural programme.

Explaining the advantages of online training, he said that online training methods are seen to be much more interactive than normal training.

In the present era, the demand and value of experienced and skilled workers in the field of frontier technology have increased. If we want to transform our manpower into an asset, we need to consider the importance of Frontier Technology with experienced and skilled personnel, Mr Alam said.

So, we must build skilled manpower on the Frontier Technology. He also added that the IT companies and universities of Bangladesh are being built in that way with that in mind.

He suggested to the students that the training they receive should be used in real life. If necessary, they should be connected with different organizations for doing proper use and practice of it.

The executive director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Parthapratim Deb was the special guest of the program. He said that although many people did not understand the significance of the Fourth Industrial Revolution at the beginning, many people understood its necessity in this corona situation.

The online programme was presided over by the project director (additional secretary) of the iDEA Project Syed Mojibul Huq.

He highlighted the need to use the technology through a representation of the different initiatives taken by the iDEA project in the case of the Coronavirus.

Three experienced professionals joined as resource persons in this online training. At the end of the speech of all guests, Professor of the Department of CSE of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) Dr. M. M. A. Hashem gave training on "Experimental Robotics".

Later, Professor of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) of BUET & Director of INPE under BUET Dr. Shaikh A. Fattah, shared his experiences and presentation on the “Learning Challenges in Robotics and Automation”.

Finally, Professor of the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering of University of Dhaka Dr Lafifa Jamal spoke as a resource person on "The Future of Robotics Technology".

 

 

The Deputy Project Director (Deputy Secretary) of iDEA Project Kazi Hosna Ara, project's senior consultant R. H. M. Alaol Kabir, Consultant of iDEA Project Adneen Zereen, Sharmin Akhtar Shaz, Communication Consultant Shohag Chandra Das, Students from different academic institute of Khulna division, BCC and other officials of ICT division were present online at the time.

The next online training on "Internet of Things (IoT)" will be held on wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 10 am.

The training will be broadcast live on the official Facebook page of “Startup Bangladesh” (https://www.facebook.com/LetsStartupBD/ ) that interested person may participate directly.
