Bangladesh have 181 runs to defend to keep their World T20 hope alive against Papua New Guinea.

Bangladesh chose to bat first winning the toss and had the worst possible start as Naim Sheikh departed on the 2md ball of the innings.

Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das then steadied the ship with their partnership of 50 runs from 41 balls. Liton scored 29 (23) runs. Shakib got out for 46(37), once again missing the half-century.

Skipper Mahmmudullah seemed to be a man on a mission before getting out in the 17th over by Damien Ravu. He scored 50 off just 28 balls that changed the gear for the Tigers.

A cameo of 21(14) from Afif and 19(6) from Saifuddin at the end ensured the highest total in this World T20 so far. 20 runs came from the last over of the innings with two sixes and a four from Saifuddin's bat.

For Papua New Guinea, Asad Vala, Ravu and Morea took 2 wickets each.
