Bangladesh are out to a promising 211-run lead in the second Test against the West Indies in Kingston after a fiery bowling attack hobbled out the hosts for only 146 in the first innings.
Nahid Rana (5-61) led the line while Hasan Mahmud (2-19) and the other bowlers chipped in to tear through the West Indies lower order on Monday, giving the Tigers an 18-run lead going into the second innings, according to a bdnews24.com report.
Bangladesh stumbled immediately as Mahmudul Hasan Joy returned to the pavilion on a duck. However, the rest of the top order proved sturdier.
Shadman Islam (46) and Captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz (42) put up respectable runs on the difficult pitch, aided by Shahadat Hossain (28) and Litton Das (25).
At stumps on day 3, Bangladesh were on 193-5, with a lead of 211 runs.
Jaker Ali (29*) and Taijul Islam (9*) are at the crease and will hope to extend that lead and give the Tigers a respectable shot at tying up the series.
