Bangladesh's national cricket team will depart for India on Wednesday to take part in the ICC World Cup. Although most of the participating countries have already announced their squads, Bangladesh is likely to announce the team on Tuesday.

Local newspapers said the team will be announced during the innings break of Bangladesh’s third ODI match against New Zealand on Tuesday.

The reports said Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has faced difficulties in announcing the squad as opener Tamim Iqbal informed the team management that he won’t be able to play all matches in the World Cup due to injury issues.

Following the development, Bangladesh ODI captain Shakib Al Hasan informed the team management that he wants to quit captaincy as he does not want half-fit players in the global tournament, the reports added.

BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon held a meeting with coach Chandika Hathurusingha and Shakib at his residence on Monday night reportedly on team selection for World Cup.
