National cricketer Nigar Sultana Joty has scored a first-class century as the first women cricketer in the country during a match of the Women's Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) at the Shaheed Kamaruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
Joty reached the three-figure mark for Central Zone on the final day of their three-day match against North Zone in the first-round fixture of the tournament on Monday.
Nigar scored an unbeaten 153 off 253 balls to help Central Zone post 387-8d in reply to North's first innings total of 240-9d, earning her side a 147-run lead.
