A brave century from Mominul Haque has taken Bangladesh to 205-6 at the end of the first session of Day 4 against India in the Kanpur Test.

At lunch on Monday, Mominul stood at an undefeated 102* off 176 balls, reports bdnews24.com.

But India will be satisfied with their performance, picking up the wickets of veterans Mushfiqur Rahim (11), Litton Das (13), and Shakib Al Hasan (9) during the session, two of them to brilliant one-handed catches from Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Siraj.

Mominul himself got a small reprieve when the ball slipped through Virat Kohli’s fingers as he stood on 95.

After two rain-curtailed days at Kanpur, Bangladesh and India are still in the first innings of the match.

To make up for the loss of time, extended sessions are being implemented today, with the second session from 12:25pm to 2:40pm (local time) and the third from 3pm to 5pm (local time), with an extra half hour if the light allows.

Bangladesh lost the first Test of their tour of India in Chennai by 280 runs.
