Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has rejoined Delhi Capitals for the rest of the IPL 2025 season as a replacement for Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, who has withdrawn due to personal reasons.

He signed the deal with Delhi for INR 6 crore, the highest-ever amount that a Bangladesh cricketer is set to get from IPL. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza got around INR 4 crore in 2008.

The franchise confirmed the signing on Wednesday. Mustafizur, 29, previously played for Delhi in 2022 and 2023, before turning out for Chennai Super Kings last season.

He went unsold at the IPL 2025 auction after setting a base price of INR 2 crore.

Delhi Capitals, currently in a tight race for playoff qualification, will be hoping Mustafizur’s experience adds depth to their bowling attack as the tournament resumes on May 17.

Mustafizur has played 57 matches in the IPL so far, taking 61 wickets. In international cricket, he has featured in 106 T20Is for Bangladesh and picked up 132 wickets.
