Bangladesh kicked off their ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup campaign with a five-wicket win over Nepal in a low-scoring match at the YSD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi, Malaysia, on Saturday.
They bowled out Nepal for just 52 runs and chased down the target with ease, securing a 5-wicket victory with 40 balls to spare.
Right from the start, the bowlers made their mark, taking wickets at regular intervals. Nepal found themselves in deep trouble, losing 5 wickets for just 30 runs. Among those dismissed was Nepal’s captain, Pooja Mahato.
Jannatul Maoua made a notable impact with the ball, bagging 2 wickets for 11 runs from her four overs.
The Tigresses will face Australia in their next match on Monday, scheduled to be held at the same venue.
