Cristiano Ronaldo's awkward encounter with Conor McGregor

Cristiano Ronaldo found himself at the centre of an awkward encounter with Conor McGregor during the Day of Reckoning fight night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese superstar seemed less than thrilled by McGregor's antics, creating a moment that resonated with the common experiences of many.

The awkwardness unfolded when McGregor, known for his flamboyant personality, attempted to initiate a handshake with Ronaldo. However, CR7's closed body language and a blank stare throughout the interaction suggested a clear reluctance on his part. 

The discomfort escalated to the point where Ronaldo seemingly rejected McGregor's handshake, making the tension palpable.

To diffuse the awkward moment, McGregor, always quick on his feet, shifted the focus by engaging Ronaldo in a watch comparison. The exchange, although diverting attention, did little to mask the evident discomfort between the two global sports icons. 

Ronaldo's longing gaze towards the anticipated showdowns of Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin and Deontay Wilder vs Joseph Parker spoke volumes about his desire to move past the uncomfortable encounter.

Amidst the awkward exchange, McGregor vocalised his challenge to boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, calling on him to "man up" and face him in the ring. McGregor's bold statement, captured in a video posted by TNT Sports, added fuel to the fire, with the Irish fighter insisting that if Pacquiao wanted the match, he should allow McGregor to compete at a higher weight.

"I love Manny, tell Manny to grow a set of balls. Tell Manny to grow a set of balls and fight me at a higher weight," McGregor proclaimed in the video, further intensifying the spotlight on the unexpected tension.

Nonetheless, the awkward handshake and tense interaction have certainly left fans speculating.
