Dua Lipa to perform in the World Cup closing ceremony

Cricket enthusiasts around the globe are gearing up for the highly anticipated finale of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, where India will clash with Australia at the grand Narendra Modi Stadium, the largest cricket stadium in the world. 

The cricketing extravaganza, scheduled for Sunday, is set to be a star-studded affair, featuring performances by global pop sensation Dua Lipa and a breathtaking aerial display by the Indian Air Force.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has extended invitations to cricketing royalty, with former World Cup-winning captains, including Indian legends MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev, expected to grace the event. 

In addition, the VIP guest list boasts the presence of the Prime Ministers of both India and Australia, adding a political touch to the cricketing spectacle.

Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the tournament, recently teased fans with a video on X, hinting at Dua Lipa's involvement in the closing ceremony. The video showcases cricket stars such as Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Kane Williamson eagerly inquiring about Lipa's potential song choice for the ceremony, building up excitement among fans.

Adding to the event's grandeur, the Indian Air Force's renowned Surya Kiran aerobatic team is set to paint the skies above Ahmedabad with a mesmerizing display. Spectators can anticipate a rare and thrilling visual treat as the aircraft lights up the night sky with precision and skill.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to announce any closing ceremony arrangements officially.

In addition to the cricketing legends and musical sensations, the guest list for the finale includes iconic figures from the Indian film industry, with invitations extended to veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, and Kamal Haasan, promising an evening of entertainment that transcends boundaries.
