Bangladesh have emerged as the champions of the SAFF U-16 Women's Football Championship, defeating India 3-2 on penalties in the final in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Goalkeeper Yearzan Begum saved three penalties from India, securing the SAFF U-16 football championship title for Bangladesh.
This championship marks Bangladesh's first in the SAFF U-16 tournament, adding to their previous U-15 championship glory.
The match was intensely fought, ending in a 1-1 draw after the regular 90 minutes.
India initially took the lead in the 5th minute with a goal from Anushka Devi, but Bangladesh quickly equalised thanks to a goal from Mariam Binte Anwar.
