Paulo Dybala responded to being dropped for two matches by scoring for Juventus in a 2-0 win over Genoa in the Italian Cup on Wednesday, reports AP.

The victory set up a Turin derby in the quarterfinals.

Earlier, goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic saved a penalty from substitute Edin Dzeko to help Torino beat Roma 2-1. Dybala, who had been relegated to a r=eserve role in Serie A matches against Inter Milan and Bologna, took advantage of his return to the starting lineup.

Three minutes before the break, Dybala spun around after collecting a pass just outside the area and scored with a low shot.

It was Dybala's 15th goal for Juventus in all competitions this season - including 12 in Serie A and a brace in the Italian Super Cup loss to Lazio in August.

Seven of Dybala's 15 goals have come with shots from beyond the area.

Substitute Gonzalo Higuain scored in the 76th, taking advantage of minimal space to cut between two defenders and find the target with a low, angled shot.

Former Italy forward Giuseppe Rossi came on for Genoa in the final 13 minutes for his first action since signing with the club two weeks ago. Rossi was lining up to attempt a penalty when the referee pointed to the spot after Pietro Pellegri appeared to have been fouled by Kwadwo Asamoah.
