Khulna beat Rajshahi by 68 runs

Khulna Titans regained the top spot in the points table in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) by beating Rajshahi Kings by 68 runs at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Riding on the Shafiul Islam's five-wicket haul for 26 runs, Khulna Titans restricted Rajshahi Kings to 145 for all in 19 overs after posting this edition’s highest score of 213 runs

Rony Talukdar top-scored 36 off 23 balls, including five boundaries and one six, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz (29 off 23 b; 1x4; 2x6), Zakir Hasan (19), Mohammad Sami (18), James Franklin (14), opener Mominul Haque (11) and Mushfiqur Rahim (11) were the other double digit scorers for the losers.

Shafiul grabbed his five wickets while Abu Jayed bagged two wickets. Afif Hossain, skipper Mahmudullah Riyad and Jofra Archer took one wicket each, reports UNB.

Sent in to bat first, Khulna played out stipulated 20 overs for their collection losing 5 wickets.

Afif scored 54* off 38 balls, including six sixes, while N Pooran hit 57 off 26 balls, including six boundaries and three over boundaries.

James Franklin captured three wickets for 50 runs while Mohammad Sami took one for 22 runs for Rajshah Kings.

N Pooran was adjudged man-of-the-match.
