New generation of Barcelona is ready to dominate

After a dominating win against Real Madrid in the last El Clasico, there is a huge sense of rejuvenation amongst the fans that Barcelona are back to their old exciting ways.

Barcelona’s boss Xavi has been praised heavily as he brought an underwhelming team into the light once again.

Following the financial limbo, the club had faced a huge downfall. Lionel Messi leaving for PSG, Griezman leaving on loan to Atletico Madrid and many more. Xavi had a lot of work to do when he took over from Ronald Koeman.

In the last El Clasico, we saw a top-notch attacking and defensive display from Barcelona. Real Madrid had their own tactical issues but decimating the league leaders like this, especially at their home turf, was a special feat for them.

Fluid attacking play and composed defending was the theme of the night for Barcelona. Just like the old Barcelona days when they used to dominate the football world with their tiki-taka football.

Xavi has rejuvenated the side a fair amount with his sheer presence. Young potential players signed in the winter transfer window like Adama Traore and Ferran Torres have been performing well alongside the 32-year-old Aubameyang who has been firing in all cylinders since coming to Camp Nou from Arsenal for free.

Amidst the financial turmoil, they have been making smart signings along the way. Their beginning of a potential new era under Xavi has sparked interest from brands and they are reported to be getting a new sponsor deal with Spotify which means cash is coming in for them.

They have already confirmed the signing of Frank Kessie from AC Milan for free. There are rumours that Chelsea defender Christensen is also going to join on free as his contract runs down this summer. The Brazilian winger Raphinha is also linked to the club.

If we add these potential transfers to the already young and exciting Barcelona side comprising the likes of Gavi, Pedri, Rique Puig, Eric Garcia, Nico Gonzalez, Ansu Fati and many more, we find a great Barcelona side who might take the world by storm under Xavi who might be on his way to following the footsteps of Pep Guardiola. Ousmane Dembele has been in blistering form at the moment.

Suddenly everything seems to be going right for FC Barcelona after a torrid few seasons. Performances like these are required to boost the morale of the club and bring happiness to their fans.

All being said, it is up to the performance of the club next season which would solidify whether it is a new era for Barcelona or just a temporary run of form, whether they can live up to the promise they have shown to the supporters.
