In a rain affected-match, West Indies Opener Chris Gayle registered a new feat in his glorious career by surpassing former West Indies legend Brian Lara who had played 295 ODI games for the Caribbeans, reports Deccan Chronicle.

Lastly, Gayle missed the opportunity to be the top scorer at the Guyana based stadium after getting out for 4. But, had he scored 67 or above then the 39-year-old would have been the top scorer at that stadium.

After the rains interrupted the match, only 13 overs were bowled, but afterwards the match had to be abandoned as the rains again stopped the play, making the outfield wet and unplayable. Gayle now tops the list with 296 caps, followed by Lara (295) and Shivnarine Chanderpaul at third with 268 ODI caps.
