The Ministry of Youth and Sports has decided to construct sports hubs in the country's eight divisions with the financial assistance of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Adviser for Youth and Sports Asif Mahmud Sajid Bhuiyan disclosed it on Sunday at the National Stadium in Dhaka while he was distributing prizes of a friendly football tournament for the underprivileged children marking the national and international sports day, UNB reports.
"We initially communicated the matter with China and finally settled the issue with the UAE; now we are working on it and do hope we will start work in the next fiscal year," he added.
“Besides, the NSC have a land in Gulshan area of the capital which was occupied by some miscreants; now we are ready with proper documents to reclaim the land and to build federation office and sports facilities there,” he said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Youth and Sports arranged a colourful rally in the capital on Sunday morning.
