Tigers seal 3-0 series win against Zimbabwe

Bangladesh earned an effortless 7-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the final ODI riding on two dazzling centuries by Soumya Sarker and Imrul Kayes on Friday in Chattogram.

Earlier, after losing the toss and being sent in to bat, the visitors registered a challenging score of 286 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.

Sean Williams hit a magnificent century scoring 129*(143b, 10X4s, 1X6).

Bangladesh started off in the worst possible manner loosing in-form Liton Das off the first over.

However, another in-form opener Imrul and Soumya put up a 220 runs partnership for the second wicket which paved the way for Bangladesh’s easy victory and securing the three-match series to a 3-0 win.

Soumya top-scored for the Tigers with 117 runs (92b, 9X4s, 6X6s) while Imrul scored 115 (112b, 10X4s, 2X6s).

Soumya Sarker was adjudged Man of the Match while Imrul Kayes received Man of the Series award.  

Imrul is also now the highest runs scorer for Bangladesh scoring 349 runs in this series.
