Bourses cut trading by 40 minutes during Ramadan

The stock exchanges-- Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange-- have reduced share trading time by 40 minutes during the Holy month of Ramadan.

Share trading on the bourses will begin at 10:00 am as usual and continue until 1:50 pm, including a 10-minute post-closing session during the Ramadan, according to a DSE statement.

Trading at bourses usually takes place from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm, including a 10-minute post-closing session.

The bourses have decided to reduce trading and office time as instructed by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission.

During Ramadan, the bourses also reduced office hours by an hour from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm instead of 4:30 pm.

After Ramadan, trading and office hours will be back to the usual time. Trading will begin at 10:00 am and continue until 2:30 pm, including 10 minutes post-closing, while the office will start at 9:00 am and continue till 4:30 pm.
