Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has suspended its 21 officials for their alleged involvement in causing chaos at its head office in Dhaka city in March this year.
The suspension decision came from an emergency meeting of the BSEC on Tuesday. However, the regulator informed the media formally through an order on Wednesday.
On March 5, BSEC officials and employees observed a strike to press for a four-point demand.
During the strike, they confined the chairman and its commissioners, necessitating army personnel’s intervention in rescuing them.
