The Chamber Court of the Supreme Court's Appellate Division on Tuesday cleared the way for holding the United Commercial Bank PLC's 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) tomorrow (Thursday).

Justice Farah Mahbub, Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division, on Sunday last stayed until August 4, 2025 two High Court orders that halted the bank's AGM under the present management after hearing two company petitions.

The court also sent the petitions to the regular Appellate Division bench for its hearing on August 4.

Later, the present management of the bank filed two separate petitions against the High Court orders, and upon hearing, the Chamber Court stayed the High Court orders.

Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal and other lawyers, representing the bank, appeared in the court hearing.
