Prof Dr. Mahmuda Akter, Department of Accounting and Information Systems, University of Dhaka, has taken charge of Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) as executive president.
She submitted the joining letter to Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), and also the Governing Board Chairman of the BICM on Monday.
Prof Dr. Mahmuda Akter completed her Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from the University of Tsukuba in Japan in 2000, says a media release.
She has spent about three decades of teaching. Along with this, she was the Director of Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) programme at Dhaka University.
Prof Dr. Mahmuda Akter was the councilor of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), formed to ensure transparency in the accountings of listed and non-listed companies.
She was also a member of different bodies of ICAB and the governing body of BDBL Investment Services Limited.
