DSE resumes descent on bearish trend

The Dhaka bourse opened the Monday’s session with a negative note and continued the declining trend for two hours amid investors’ cautious stance.

Most of the securities lost prices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and no recovery stance was observed during the period.

After two hour of the session, the DSE broad index DSEX lost 0.98 per cent or 53.62 points to stand at 5380.26 points.

The shariah based index DSES declined 1.17 per cent or 14.81 points to 1243.94.

The DS30 index comprising blue chip securities also went down by 0.82 per cent or 16 points to 1926.75 points.

Of total issues are being traded, 39 advanced, 259 declined and 40 were unchanged.

The turnover stood at above Tk 2.44 billion on the premier bourse DSE at 12.30 pm.

British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company was on the top of the turnover chart with a value of Tk 491 million followed by Grameenphone, Eastern Cables and Delta Brac Housing Finance Corporation.
