Lafarge Surma Cement has had its name changed into LafargeHolcim Bangladesh and its trading code ‘LAFSURCEML’ into ‘LHBL’ on the main bourse, effective from Thursday.
“Other things of the company (except name and trading code) will remain unchanged,” said an official disclosure posted on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) website on Wednesday.
On December 23, 2017, the Lafarge Surma Cement approved the acquisition of Holcim Cement (Bangladesh) Ltd at the price of Tk 5.04 billion set by Bangladesh Bank.
Lafarge Surma Cement, one of the largest multinational companies, had itself listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2003.
In 2016, the company also disbursed 10 per cent cash dividend.
Each share of the company closed at Tk 57 on the main bourse on Tuesday.
DSE data shows that the company’s paid-up capital is Tk 11.61 billion and authorised capital Tk 14 billion, while its number of securities stands at 1.16 billion.
The sponsor-directors own 64.68 per cent stake in the company, while institutional investors 14.56 per cent, foreigners 1.17 per cent and general public 19.59 per cent as on January 31, 2018.
