Marico BD declares 200pc interim cash dividend

The board of directors of Marico Bangladesh Ltd, one of the leading listed multinational companies, has declared a 200 per cent interim cash dividend based on six months financials for the period ended on September 30, 2020.

The company has reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk. 25.03 for July-September 2020 as against Tk. 21.24 for July-September 2019.

In six months for April-September 2020, its EPS was Tk 56.67 as against Tk. 48.20 for April-September 2019, according to an official disclosure on Wednesday.

Marico Bangladesh, the first subsidiary of Indian fast-moving consumer goods company, Marico Ltd, was listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in 2009.

There will be no price limit on the trading of the shares of the Company today (28.10.2020) following its corporate declaration, however, as per the BSEC Order dated March 19, 2020, the floor price shall be applicable accordingly.

Each share of the company closed at Tk 2,196.70 on Tuesday at the DSE.

Marico Bangladesh’s share traded between Tk 1,439.80 and Tk 2,379 in the past one year.

The company also paid 300 per cent interim cash dividend based on three months financial statements for April-June, 2020 ended on June 30, 2020.

The company disbursed a total of 950 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on March 31, 2020.

The company’s paid-up capital is Tk 315 million and authorisedcapital is Tk 400 million while total number of securities is 31.50 million.

The sponsor-directors own 90 per cent stake in the company, while the institutional investors own 3.21 per cent, foreign investors 5.34 per cent and the general public only 1.45 per cent as on September 30, 2020, the DSE data shows.
